Congratulations

Congratulations to Awakeri School for coming first place in CReW’s local school mural competition, which incorporated important Waste Minimsation messages.

Local artist Maree White and the Whakatane District Council’s Solid Waste Manager, Nigel Clarke where the judges. They both felt that this mural encapsulated the necessary waste minimisation messages and also it portrayed both global and local content, plus this mural was particularly vibrant and colourful. Well done from the team at CReW.

The school was awarded a $500 cash prize and each student received a certificate and a succulent planted in a teacup supplied by Bevan’s ‘Window Sill’ Microbusiness at Pou Whakaaro.
